Best Unplugged Band
Wrinkly Rockers Club
"We reviewed Long Road Home supporting Focus at London's Bush Hall in April, and consequently the three amigos from the Rock quintet with Prog and Blues influences, have been voted Best Unplugged in our 2023 Wrinkly Rockers Club Awards, as evidenced by today's Video Of The Day of 'Whispering Rain', taken from their debut album, 'Are We Invisible?'"

Blues In Britain
"Long Road Home is a relatively new band formed by five seasoned blues music scene veterans, who have (if we can put it so indelicately)
individually been around the block a few times in a number of different guises with different collaborators. Combining their many years
of collective experience, they recently released their first album Are We Invisible? and were about to play the well-trodden boards of
the Half Moon Putney to launch the album ... "

"Sometimes its fate; sometimes its luck; sometimes it’s a chance meeting between old friends; sometimes it’s a tragedy or unforeseen circumstance that leads to opportunity.
The formation of "rock solid blues" band (to use their own tag line) Long Road Home could be perceived as a mix of all the above, "

"Creating an individual live sound, blending various musical styles, tonight we expected to hear fresh, original Rock and Blues-influenced tunes combined with Classic Rock, from musicians with many years of touring and recording experience, and indeed, we got exactly what it said on the tin."

Pete Feenstra
‘Are We Invisible?’ is a promising debut album by Long Road Home, a new British guitar and keyboard driven veteran rock-blues band, with bluesy, proggy, AOR and occasional southern rock influences... this is a coherent and well structured album with a beginning, middle and send, with the band’s titled opener establishing a riff driven rolling groove template."

What They Call The Blues
"This track (What They Call The Blues) is pretty sublime. I don’t think there is anything that I DON'T like about it.. It's like it casts a spell on you, drawing you in with one of the nicest vocals I've heard in a while.. tuneful AND with character and doesn't have to go climbing the registers to keep the listener entertained. I'll also highlight the guitar work - the perfect foil for the vocal and just oozes emotion. Now, I feel I need to mention the rhythm section here because it is solid as a rock - never trying to be fancy and just keeping the track grounded... and then .. that piano - stunning addition!

What They Call The Blues
"With a sultry and seductive allure, 'What They Call the Blues' unfolds, offering a somewhat erotic sound with wonderfully husky vocals and beautiful rasp. This track is a fabulous fusion of dreamy blues infused with progressive elements and classic rock attributes. It skilfully blends sensual vibes with sombre melancholic undertones..."

Are We Invisible?
A short, but pretty sweet, review of Long Road Home's debut album in the March 2024 edition of Classic Rock magazine ... a fine, and much read, publication. Here is a transcript of the review... oh, and an "8 out of 10" ... great!
"With a line-up soaked in Brit-blues pedigree, Long Road Home inevitably play like demons. But while the five-piece can kick around a 12-bar, these self-written songs are more imaginative than you’re probably expecting: check out the stalking funk of "I Don’t Belong Here" or the buoyant Bad Company evoking "Eye On You". ■■■■■■■■■■

The Half Moon, Putney, London
16th November, 2023
Long Road Home launched their debut
album Are We Invisible? at The Half Moon in
Putney with special guests the Bad Influence
duo of Val Cowell and Richard Hayes opening
the evening. A varied set, that showcased
Val’s wonderful voice and ‘Dickie’s’ superb
slide guitar, contained songs by Bonnie Raitt,
Del Shannon, Delbert McClinton and Neil
Diamond, standouts being Raitt’s ‘Love Me
Like A Man’, the duo’s take on Del Shannon’s
‘Runaway’ and the classic ‘Mercury Blues’, all
three inch-perfect in their execution.
By the time Long Road Home hit the stage,
the venue had filled up nicely for a set of mostly
new material from Are We Invisible?, the band
opening with the title track, one of a clutch
of new songs composed largely by guitarist
Steve Summers and singer Mike Sebbage.
The single ‘Long Road Home’ was next, with
its powerful guitar riff and ear-worm hook,
before the tortured blues of ‘I Lose Again’, its
Trower-esque feel and broody guitar setting
the tone for a fine vocal by Sebbage. ‘I Don’t
Belong Here’ has a funky, blues infected riff,
before an interesting take on the Jethro Tull
classic ‘A New Day Yesterday’ and the band’s
own ’Waiting For The Kill’. ‘Where I Wanna
Be’, with its dynamic guitar/keys riff riding
over the super tight rhythm section of Derek
White and Lee Morrell was a highlight, as was
the blues ballad ‘Whispering Rain’, Sebbage’s
sensitive vocal drawing powerful guitar from
Summers, reminiscent of Gary Moore. ‘Perfect
Afternoon’ was a powerful closer, before they
wrapped things up with versions of ‘Ain’t No
Love In The Heart of the City’ (in tribute
to Bernie Marsden for whom Derek White
(bass) and Ian Salisbury (keys) were occasional
sidemen) and ‘I’m Ready’, dished up ZZ Topstyle,
a great finale to a night of top class
entertainment.

Are We Invisible?
"Something a bit different from UK's Long Road Home and 'Are We Invisible?' the title track from their debut album. It's an easy blend of blues, blues rock and even a bit of soul. The intro takes a rock approach before easing back into a soulful blues mix of layers of subtle guitars and hammond organ; the drums keep a solid beat while tom-toms add an extra layer of tone and rhythm while the chorus has the big melodic catchiness of soul, and the overall piece is warm and laidback with plenty of melodic organ and guitar!
