Although new to the scene in 2022, “Long Road Home” can boast many years of collective touring and recording experience and friendships going back to the late ’70s.
Following a tragedy that struck rising blues/rock band “Storm Warning” during the recent Covid pandemic, founder “SW” members, bassist Derek White and keyboard player Ian Salisbury, had a chance meeting with guitarist Steve Summers and vocalist Mike Sebbage, both from recording project “Rien de Faire”.
With the addition of drummer and old mate Dave Norman, the “Long Road Home” line-up was complete and work began on putting together the new band.
Their inaugural gig was at the Cambridge Rock Festival in June 2022, a debut performance that was very well received by punters and critics alike.
In January 2023, following unforeseen personal circumstances, drummer Dave Norman was replaced by another old pal, Lee Morrell. Lee’s driving style and big sound fitted perfectly with the band’s powerful live set, “Long Road Home” are definitely living up to their strap-line “Rock-Solid Blues“!
Writing has begun for the band’s debut album and this is due for release in spring ’23 along with a series of UK gigs planned for the spring/summer of 2023.
The band have their roots firmly planted in the blues/rock genre but have created a unique style that blends in soulful and even jazz elements to their music, which the band is certain will prove popular with a large section of music lovers.
